Solang Valley | Travel diaries part 5

Image
I was already getting late for breakfast,  I quickly took a warm shower, grabbed my jacket, and went to the breakfast area. Today was the day we were about to visit The Solang valley. I was very excited to play with the snow, to make the snowman, to throw snowballs at my friends, and to just roll over and over again in the snow. I took 2 boiled eggs, bread-butter, and a coffee and sat next to my friends. The view from the hotel was like heaven, having our breakfast, with the mesmerizing view was surreal.  We were informed to make a group of 10 people. As we were about to go in the van because the buses can't go to that place. So this is how everyone was sitting: two of my friends were sitting next to the driver, the other three were sitting in the front row, me and my three friends were in the back seat. We were told to halt at a place to rent ourselves snowsuit and boots. The place was 30 minutes from our hotel, so I decided to take a nap. As I woke up, I could see colorful s...

Manali | Travel diaries part 4

Read what happened before this . The bus journey is something that never excites me and to be honest, I hate traveling in the bus for hours. I can easily manage 2-3 hours of journey but, traveling for 8-9 hours was already making me a bit sick. nevertheless, it was around 11 pm.  The temperature had already started to decrease. I grabbed my blanket,  listening to bellyache by Billie Eilish and was staring outside the window. It was very dark, the mountains and the trees standing tough were trying to convey something to me. As the Himachal roads are one-way roads, I could only see the lights, coming from the vehicles from the front. Soon I realize that I was completely lost. The song that I was listening too, had no meaning for me, those beats that I loved the most, were something inaudible to me. It was just like someone is kicking my eardrums and I was just not ready to hear it. Soon I was just flowing from one thought to another and I don't know when I went to sleep. I could...

Rock Garden of Chandigarh |Travel diaries - part 3

Image
Read what happened before this trip Read about my journey to Chandigarh The first place that was lined for the day was the Rock garden. It was about a 30 minutes drive from our hotel. As I entered the place, my eyes were stunned. Everything was looking so beautiful and unique. I have never seen such beauty in my life. So basically, the Rock garden is built from industrial, household waste, and discarded items. It consists of man-made waterfalls and many sculptures that are made up of waste such as bottles, glasses, bangles, tiles, ceramic pots, sinks, electrical waste, broken pipes which are placed on walls. Inside the garden, there's a Doll Museum which looks so amazing. I clicked a few pictures and shot some videos. Check out the video below. The place was quite large and we didn't have much time. I  and my friends were so lost in the beauty of the sculptures that we didn't realize that we had many missed calls from our professors and friends as...

Travel diaries - part 2

Read about what happened before this trip As soon as we reached New Delhi station, it was about a 10 minutes walk towards the spot where our bus was already parked.  After boarding the bus,  we were provided with packaged food and water bottles, we then had our meal and started our journey towards Chandigarh. It was about 5-6 hours drive to reach our hotel. To pass some time, we all started playing a few games. We played for a while and then we all got really tired. Few of us took a small nap, while others were singing songs and enjoying with each other. I was sitting beside the window and enjoying the view. Later, the sunlight came right on my face which was making me uncomfortable. So, I took my scarf; placed it on my face, and slept. While I was dreaming about the mountains, the snowfall, and the amazing beauty of Himachal, one of my friends shouted that " result aaa Gaya ". For a moment, I couldn't believe what he said. My mind wasn't ready for that news. I w...

Travel diaries - Part 1

Image
I have never been away from my parents and went on a trip for ten days. This was the first time that I ever went on a trip for more than a day with my buddies; with whom I had spent more time than my family during my engineering days. I did all sorts of things for this trip: from going shopping with my mom for warm clothing to video calls with my girls and sending pictures to them of the things I had bought that day. The excitement just kept increasing day by day. Deep within my subconscious mind, I knew this trip was going to be important for me. It was going to help me escape from all my daily thoughts and stress, and I just wanted to relax and enjoy nature. Few days passed and it was the new year's eve, right before the day we had to depart for the trip. I was a bit stressed about fitting all my clothes into a single trolley bag. After struggling for a few hours, I finally stuffed everything in the bag and spent the rest of the time with my family. The day had finally arri...

losing Someone

Image
As we grew up, we just stop valuing people who are around us, or due to our studies or work commitments we just stop giving them time, and hence when they are no more with us, we realize their importance in our lives . This year was quite tough for me and my family. My dad lost his sister and my mom lost her brother, eventually, it was quite difficult for me to see them like that. It was such a trauma for me and my brother because they were not that aged and were in there 50s and 30s respectively. The starting days were quite difficult because I couldn't digest the fact that they are gone. I couldn't sleep at night and used to just think about them continuously and the memories we had together. Another most difficult thing to see was my mom was very depressed due to the loss of her brother, there were times when she used to cry, she used to say that she was not there during his last breath, she started to overthink a lot so I decided to indulge her into few new things. We...

My visit to INS Chennai(D65)

Image
On 31st July, 2019 I and my friends went to visit the ' Navy Exhibition' which was taking place in Ballard estate. It was conducted by the Indian navy.  I was very excited to visit that place and see Indian warships. So me and my friends were about to meet at CSMT station. During those days, Mumbai was suffering from heavy rainfall and people were asked to avoid traveling. But still, we decided to go there. From CSMT station we started finding taxis also known as ' Kali Peelis' in Mumbai. Almost every taxi driver was denying to go to that place. We were wondering why are they not taking us there, then while waiting for almost 7-8 minutes, we finally found someone who took us to that place. When we reached there, we saw a gate where there was written 'Ballard Estate'. Now I was totally confused about where to go because I couldn't see any ship. Then, we walked towards the gate and found a lot of crowds. As soon as we entered, there were artifacts of n...
